Here is the link to my pictures. I took all of these awhile back but I like all of them. they were all shot on program since I have yet to learn how to use my manual settings. http://www.flickr.com/photos/26598093@N05/sets/
I'm playing around with through-the-viewfinder photography right now, which means I have to be extra-vigilant about composition -- no post-processing cropping to fix mistakes!
Here's two where I concentrated on composition in particular:
And here's one where I intentionally "broke" the rule of thirds by (more or less) centring my horizon line:
Oh no, lots of post-processing. I love the urban acid action on photoshop in particular for TtV. No, just no cropping after the fact -- or at least, no cropping of the image in the viewfinder frame.
I think you've hit on one of the most common exceptions to the rule of thirds -- in this case the fact that you've divided the image exactly in half really works.
I did not get the opportunity to make any images this week so I took some from last weeks outing to the arboretum and one from a vacation to demonstrate composition, both good and bad.
with the holiday i havent had time to post any new images but i like the composition of these older picshttp://www.flickr.com/photos/amorra1/sets/72157622411868127/
"All Snug" was my fav of this week's assignment! I believe the baby's eyes are almost directly aligned with the "rule of third's" first 2 intersection points of the composition.
Eric made a comment about post-processing. I tend to shoot big and crop for the picture I want. perhaps if there's a lesson about that I'll show the "originals" of some of the pictures I've been posting.
In general, I'll make an effort to compose a shot properly - but since I shoot digital, I know I can tweak in Photoshop and Lightroom, so I tend to shoot bigger than the picture I want and crop to precisely the composition I'm after. That was something that was made so much easier switching to digital because it's a real hassle on film.
I don't always do that, mind you. But since Eric was mentioning post-processing earlier, I thought I'd bring that up.
Sorry these are a little late, and i didn't take these specifically for this, they are just photos i have taken over the last few weeks that i thought fit what was asked for.
I started thsi week's assignment.
Here's the link to the album. I've also put in a couple that I've taken before that I was happy with.

I absolutely enjoyed all 3 photographs. Really great lighting! Nice job!
Thank you missprospectheights, your Gallery photos are great. Love the one of the couple mimicking the photo on the wall.
Oh no, Kim -- that's awful!

No post processing at all? Not even to adjust levels?
Oh no, lots of post-processing. I love the urban acid action on photoshop in particular for TtV. No, just no cropping after the fact -- or at least, no cropping of the image in the viewfinder frame.
Hmmm, my attempt to embed my pictures seems to have failed. Sorry for the double post -- here it is again with links instead.

Posted a comment on your Flickr account :)
I was fortunate to be out west for the assignment. I had trouble picking though - that's why I need help! I look forward to the comments.

The "steps" photo was really great. I love the feel of it. (Also commented on your Flickr account)
Thanks
Ooo, I really like the steps, too, and the gorge and "rock". No wonder you had a hard time choosing!
I love the composition of this image:

Hello all!
Hope everyone's had a great week. Just realized that I never posted a link to my Week 2 assignment on here!
I decided to use some pics I had already taken since I found a lot that I really loved and fit this week's assignment:

Looking forward to everyone's feedbacks/suggestions/comments!

I am following in the footsteps of Miss Prospect Heights and using images I've already taken, at least until I catch up.
Compositionally speaking, I think these worked reasonably well:
